Job Title 1 - Lead Power Electronics Engineer

Summary:
General LED is looking for a self-motivated, hands-on electrical engineer to lead the driver electronics design for LED signage, LED light engines, and light fixtures. This engineer will work within a cross-functional team of marketing and sales, engineering, manufacturing and supply chain, to develop, design and qualify stand-along and integrated driver electronics of LED lighting systems to mass production. A successful candidate will be innovative Power Elecronics electrical designer following disciplined engineering process, a resourceful problem solver, and a technical leader managing design to production process.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage electrical system design from concept to production hand-off including circuit design, component selection, simulation, prototype build, engineering test and production integration.
- Lead compliance effort for EMC and safety approvals both US and worldwide, including UL and CE. Work with quality and labs to conduct qualification testing and meet LED standards.
- Interface with component suppliers to evaluate second source components, meet cost targets, and resolve technical issues that may arise in manufacturing.
- Identify, initiate and implement solutions for process/product development that improves driver electronics performance, reduces cost, strengthens yield, and increases capability.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or higher academic degree in Electrical Engineering or other technical related field.
- 8+ years in power electronic design with working knowledge in high frequency magnetic design, control, topology selection and simulation. Familiarity with UL and CE requirements for lamps and fixtures is preferred.
- Strong technical background in electronic device performance and passive components. Familiarity with LED driver IC components is preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot analog and power electronics with equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters, AC and DC power supplies and multimeters.
- Proficient with Mathcad, pspice and schematic capture tools.
- Ability to work independently and be self-sufficient while managing multiple projects. Self-starter with strong personal work ethic. Must have a "whatever it takes" attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communcation skills.
- Willing to travel - both domestic and international.

General LED is looking for a self-motivated, hands-on procurement specialist to facilitate the purchase of materials used to develop LED-based products, including LED signage systems, LED light engines and fixtures and LED micro-displays. This specialist will work within a cross-functional team of marketing and sales, engineering, manufacturing , and supply chain, to develop, design, and qualify LED lighting products to mass products. A successful candidate will be a strong communicator, have excellent negotation skills, and be able to grasp and maintain the company's bottom line.

- B.S. or higher academic degree in business or accounting.
- 5+ years experience in procurement with solid knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and pricing, preferred experience in LED signage, LED lamps, LED or other lighting fixtures.

Their products utilize solid state devices including visible and infrared LEDs (light emitting diodes), high power lasers, RF and blue tooth, etc. General LED is looking for a highly motivated, hands-on Electronics Design Engineer to design and qualify electronics control products in above 3 product lines.
Major Responsibilities:
- Design microprocessor-based digital motor systems with remote control interface for embedded cameras, including electronics hardware, firmware, analog and digital input and output circuits.
- Define and execute test plans at different product development stages to valid design of circuits, firmware and system.
- Coordinate building of prototypes at different product development stages.
- Compile and maintain engineering specifications for electronics hardware and firmware; interface with vendors and contract manufacturers to bring design to production.
- Qualify products and systems to regulatory standards via nationally-recognized testing labs.
- Design LED driving and control circuit for micro-information packaging, including microprocessor programming; work with contract manufacturuer to develop cost-effective manufacturing process.
Qualifications:

- A minimum of 8 years' technical experience, including analog and digital circuit design, microprocessor programming, board layout and troubleshooting.
- Experience in firmware, C++ programming and other software development is preferred.
- Regulatory experience including UL, CSA, and CE is preferred.
- Skills in using in-circuit emulators, logic analyzers and other debugging tools are required.
